The inaugural wine in our new Curated Icons collection represents a bold vision from Cooper’s Hawk founder Tim McEnery: to collaborate with some of the greatest wineries in the world and share their most profound, legacy-driven wines with our Members. Each release in this series will highlight not just the beauty of the wine itself, but the story, heritage, and values of the iconic producers behind them. To launch this project, we are honored to partner with Cakebread Cellars, celebrating their 50th harvest alongside Cooper’s Hawk’s 20th anniversary—a milestone collaboration rooted in excellence and shared passion.

The Cakebread Cabernet Sauvignon embodies the heart of Napa Valley winemaking. It brims with ripe dark fruits—blackberry, boysenberry, and plum—layered with notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, and toasty oak from barrel aging. The wine’s rich, smooth palate is supported by lush, well-integrated tannins, leading to a long, elegant finish with a whisper of minerality. This is a wine that captures both power and finesse, a hallmark of Cakebread’s craft over the past five decades.

The label itself pays tribute to the winery’s roots, featuring founders Jack and Dolores Cakebread alongside their iconic Napa estate. Jack’s love of photography and Dolores’ culinary garden reflected their belief that food and wine are inseparable. This philosophy continues to shape the family’s approach today. As Bruce Cakebread has said, “Quality and sustainability have been Cakebread cornerstones since our first vintage in 1973. We’re a family winery, and we want to protect the land for future generations.”
