Cooper's Hawk Scarletto Wine
IN THE BOTTLE
Aromas of ripe cherries, raspberries, and cranberries with a touch of rose petals and cinnamon. The blend used to make the base wine for Scarletto includes Concord grapes in the blend, the same grape used for Sweet Red/Romance Red. This inclusion of Concord grapes gives Scarletto a distinct grape jelly flavor.
CLASSIC FLAVOR PROFILES OF VARIETAL
Floral aromas of rose petals and violets compliment fresh cherries and strawberries. This is a great sparkling wine as an aperitif, but it can also be enjoyed during or after a meal.
There is a long history of sweet sparkling red wines in Southern France and Northern Italy: Brachetto d'Acqui from the Piedmont in Italy, Vin de Bugey from the Savoie region of France, and Lambrusco from Italy's Emilia Romagna are some of the most popular. Juicy red fruit flavors matched the bright acidity to make a refreshing, sweet, and bubbly wine.
We based Scarletto on Brachetto d'Acqui, a lightly sweet, sparkling red wine from the rolling hills of the Piedmont in northwestern Italy. Brachetto is sometimes considered to be a red equivalent of Moscato d'Asti and recent DNA analysis makes sense: Muscat is a parent of Brachetto grape!
DID YOU KNOW?
Because it is sweet, red, and sparkling, Scarletto is versatile with its pairings. The bright acidity makes it great for meals that are difficult pairings, like Thanksgiving dinner. Scarletto's sweetness melds well with dessert too! Try it with cheesecake with fruit sauce, chocolate desserts, cobblers, and pies.
